Web-Ad was formed in 2000, as a business dedicated to providing low-cost, high-quality web-site design and maintenance to business and individuals on the Isle of Man. David Kinrade and Frank Crompton both felt that the time was right to offer services to local businesses.

Initially, Web-Ad concentrated on offering solutions to Garages and Car Dealers, allowing them to have a weekly-updated site with all their stock online for a minimum expenditure of both time and money. Web-Ad arranged to do all the hard work, photos, details, site updates, etc. with a simple weekly visit to each garage and a flat rate monthly fee.

By 2002, Web-Ad had expanded their portfolio considerably, offering sites to all manner of small business clients all over the Isle of Man, as well as amalgamating their motor industry based services under the umbrella of MANXAUTOS.COM, a monthly online magazine for the motoring enthusiast, offering road test reports, editorials, reviews and advertising.

At the end of 2006, Frank Crompton decided to reduce his input into the business, to more thoroughly enjoy his retirement with his family. David Kinrade decided to continue to work in the website design and promotion industry, but at the same time took the decision to retire the Web-Ad Business identity in favour of one that indicates a new direction for the business under the sole ownership of David Kinrade.

David Kinrade is well-known in the home and small business PC industry on the Isle of Man, primarily as the Technician / Installer for Copycat in Ramsey.
